You Control Your Security

Digital security systems are getting cooler and cooler as time progresses. As technology grows and becomes more capable of different functions, so do the abilities for alarm systems. For so long, we had to set alarm systems by actually being inside of the house, typing in a code, and running outside before the alarm sets so an annoyingly loud buzzers doesn’t go off in your ears. Things are beginning to change in a very neat way, and the changes are already here, and being put to good use.

Recently, masked men were approaching a bank, and police assume that they had intended to rob the location. However due to their office security systems, a metal detector locked the second set of doors, making the suspects unable to gain access, thus saving the bank. The detector is special that it was able to sense things that cause possible threats such as a gun, which is what the police are assuming the suspects had. After the detector found the assumed gun, it sent a message to the second set of doors to lock down immediately, leaving the masked would-be robbers outside of the bank. The men then decided to flee the scene after they discovered they couldn’t get in. Advances like these are making the world safer, without having to necessarily give up any privacy or liberties, which is great for everyone.

However upgrades to home security are being made as well. The company uControl is in the middle of raising $9 million to develop an “all-in-one” home security touch screen system. The remote that controls the whole system allows you to set alarm systems, communications, and other home settings such as air conditioning. This technology can be installed in your home by normal internet providers like cable and phone companies, and what is even better is that this security system is more secure than normal systems because this program utilizes wireless technology. Because of this, a potential burglar can’t just cut a phone line to kill the security system.

So not only is this new system able to complete all the functions of completely different systems such as communications, alarms, and air conditioning, but it’s able to do it in a more secure way than previously possible. It’s many people’s dream to be able to control most things with a remote, this invention brings us one step closer to being able to control someone’s entire house with a remote control.

Currently, uControl has raised $3.9 million of the required $9 million, but that has been without looking at venture capitalists or institutional investors, and simply from private investors, partners, and customers. With any luck they can get the amount required, allowing this awesome new security system to become available to the public.
