Alright, maybe Mountain Dew hasn't been proven to stunt grow in children. But more and more research is showing that caffeine is extremely hard on the body and that could actually mess with the growth process if taken over a long period of time.
Any energy drink should be avoided by children, as the caffeine is just plain bad for them. Even sports drinks should only be drank in moderation, as they contain a large amount of sugar among other things.
A 15 year old boy recently was taken to the hospital suffering seizures after consuming just two 24 oz. bottles of Mountain Dew. The boy was on medication for ADHD, and it is said that with this type of condition, it is extremely harmful for them to drink too much caffeine.
