Germany, in the wake of the nuclear troubles Japan has been experiencing, has decided to become the first industrialized nation to decide to revert back to a nuclear free energy system.
While Chancellor Angela Merkel's pushed late last year to extend the life of all of the 17 nuclear reactors in the country, Japan's diaster has quickly showed her a different side of the story. Seeing how a powerful nation has struggled to fight the nuclear power crisis, Germany does not want to take the chance of something catastrophic happening.
Germany wants to phase out nuclear energy by 2022, which gives them just over a decade to achieve this lofty goal. While some may think it is impossible, Germany feels that it is not only feasibile, but economically sound.
As the first large industrialized nation to do this, they will be on the forefront of new technologies and jobs not only in Germany, but around the world. This will advance the country forward and establish it again as a super-power, at least they hope.
