Medicare, to put it simply, is the ultimate voting machine for the Democratic party. Well, Medicare, SSI and every other social program out there at least.
Without billions and billions of dollars being pumped into social welfare programs every year, the Democratic party would never have a leg to stand on. Quite frankly, they keep asking for more and more every year as the deficit grows higher and higher. And do you know why it is? It is to keep the poor down and make them vote for anyone Democrat.
See, Democrats, mostly poor ones, think that Republicans are only rich people. They aren't. They are hard working people who hate to pay for other people's homes, food, cigarettes, alcohol and everything else that you can buy with government money. Yes, you are helping that single mother with 4 kids get alcohol. Feels great, doesn't it?
Anyways, back to Medicare. Instead of letting third party companies come in and save money, just like SSI with not letting you invest outside the government, everything is done internally. That benefits the ones who make the laws and that is about it.
Then, they pander to the poor when the other party tries to do something about fixing it. But Democrats make it seem as though Republicans are trying to cut out Medicare, when they are trying to extend it and save money.
Anyways, watch out for increased social programs. The more welfare programs and funding there is, the more voters will be voting for socialism. And that, my friends, is not a type of government I support.
