Get Your Children Involved In Activities

Too many children want to spend their time playing video games. It is time to get them involved in activities to get them up and moving. It may seem like a tough job to do, but chances are if you do the activities with them they will love to join in.

Go To the Playground

Children love the playground and they will use the equipment that is there. They love to climb on monkey bars and climbing walls. These activities are great for building up their muscles. They are getting a workout and don't even realize it.

You can bring toys with you to the playground that will inspire them to play even more. Make an obstacle course for them to run. They will love it. Join in and see how much your children love it.

Try going to different playgrounds so your children don't get bored with the equipment at one.

Get other families involved in your activities. Both families will benefit and your children may make some new friends.

Backyard Games

Remember the outdoor games you played as a child? Teach them to your children. Red Rover never grows old. Play the games with your children. If you are involved they will want to be involved too. If you can't play in the backyard, find games that require moving around that you can play in the house.

Fun with Housework

Get your kids involved in household work both inside and out. If you work alongside them they are much more likely to do the work with fewer complaints. Have the older children vacuum. Get your younger children dusting. Give your child a feather duster and see how it becomes a game to them.

Take some of the work outside where you can work on the yard or garden. Children love to grow things. Let them plant and care for their own little plants. Get them involved in raking the yard. If you work alongside them it won't seem so much like work.

Have Your Own Dance Party

Have a dance party that is just for the family. Get some fast paced music playing and start dancing. Your children will join right in and have a blast. Just for fun bring out the funny hats and boa scarves for the children to wear while they get down to the music. You will have a lot of fun and so will your children. Dancing is a great way to get them up and moving.

Take a Walk

Start your family walking. Take a nice stroll after dinner. Walk them to school and back. Make up little games to play while walking to make it more interesting to them. When it is time to walk the dog, make it a family ordeal. Taking walks are so much more pleasant when you have company. There is no better company than your family. They may moan in the beginning but you will see how their attitudes change as you do it more and more. You can even offer little incentives to get them interested in walking.
