7 Tips for Teen Skin Care

Teen skin care differs from the adult’s skin care.

  • 1. Protect your skin from sun thereby reducing the chances of skin cancer and other harmful UV rays that fall on the skin. Apply sun screen whenever you go out in sun for protecting your skin from sunburn.

  • 2. Choose a proper cleanser according to the type of the skin. If you have oily skins opt for the gel based cleanser. Wash your face after regular interval of time in a day.

  • 4. Use exfoliator and mask every week: A mask cleans your pores while an exfoliator removes the dead skin from the surface. You can use clay masks that will open the pores and offer you deep cleansing. An exfoliator will help in making the arrival of new skin faster. Don’t over scrub as it may cause damage to the skin. It should be used once every week for getting polished skin.

Why Does Skin Get Oily? 

There are several reasons which make the skin become oily. Some common examples are oil based diet, fluctuation of hormones, genetics, usage of birth control pills, use of oil based cosmetics, pregnancy, and damp or hot weather.

The biggest advantage of having oil skin is that it ages very slowly. Special care needs to be taken for oily skin. It needs to be washed two to three times regularly with hot soap water as it has a tendency to attract more dust and bacteria than other skin types. Excessive use of harsh cleanser can lead a reaction called seborrhea. Skin care products which cause skin dehydration needs to avoided. Thus to wash oily skin one should use oil based products which is capable of dissolving the sebum effectively.

To get a non shiny complexion the use of oil-free moisturizer is advisable. The application of lime and cucumber juice of equal proportion mixed with a few drops of eau de cologne before taking bath helps to keep the skin less oily and by acting as an astringent the cologne Prevents the skin from Acne. The diets for people with oily skin should be rich in protein, salt, green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits and lots of fluids. Consumption of foods with high content of fat and oil should be reduced significantly as it only makes the skin excessively oily.
